Neil Mason

It all started with me discovering the guitar at the age of 8. 

The joy, peace and drive my music brought me, decided my career path quite early on. I felt particularly connected with the influence of technology to affect the quality and power of sound. So I focussed on educating myself and gaining experience in sound engineering and reproduction, helping artists to achieve the sounds they strove for. This led me to a career in recording studios, starting at George Martin’s Air Studios. I worked on recording a wide range of genres from orchestral film scores, bands and even avant-garde jazz. From there I fine tuned my tech experience with 5 years of global installing and setting up studios in New York, Miami, Guadeloupe, Réunion and back to the UK.

On the way I met Matthew and we found mutual motivation to distill this world class recording studio level sound tech into homes of patrons with keen ears. In 2004 we set up Another Planet AV ltd and haven’t looked back.

 

Matthew Carter

An honours graduate in engineering management from the University of Hertfordshire, Matthew began his career with motorsport data acquisition experts Pi Research - work which took him all over Europe visiting trackside and customers' premises - before moving to Alcatel's marine surveys unit, responsible for surveying routes for international fibre optic cables. His love of music then took him to The Cornflake Shop - a hi-fi custom installation specialist based in London's West End - and after meeting Neil there, he joined him in setting up Another Planet.
